RENAISSANT
Left to die and rot,
a hollowed coconut tree
sat on the roadside.
But, wait, what lay inside?
A green blade, a lalang shoot,
grew, strong and vibrant,
out of this flowerpot trunk,
searching for the sun.
At the remains of the day,
a calamity,
should we endure,
summons a similar
inner strength in us
to reinvent,
to spring anew.
